#5 Which Sectors Are Getting Money Flow? A Sector Rotation Guide

Updated 05/07/2026 / 13 min read

1) What The Predictor Is Measuring

The Future Money Flow Predictor is designed to estimate where capital may rotate next by combining sector trend, relative strength, breadth, momentum persistence, and short-term participation. It is not trying to guess tomorrow's candle. It is trying to identify which areas have a better flow backdrop before the move becomes obvious.

Use it as a shortlist engine. When a sector or stock has improving flow, it earns attention. Execution still requires price structure, volume confirmation, and risk control.

  • 1W flow is useful for short swing timing and near-term rotation.
  • 1M flow is useful for broader positioning and trend persistence.
  • Flow without price confirmation is a watchlist signal, not an automatic entry.

2) Short-Term vs Mid-Term Flow

SignalBest UseWarning
1W Future FlowSpotting early sector acceleration and short swing candidates. Can flip quickly after event risk or market gaps.
1M Future FlowFinding sustained leadership and stronger trend follow-through.Can lag early reversals.
Sector TailwindFiltering individual stocks by the group they belong to.A strong stock in a weak sector needs extra confirmation.
Relative StrengthSeparating true accumulation from broad market drift.One-day strength is not enough.

3) Practical Workflow

Step 1: Start with sector flow

Identify which sectors are improving on both short-term and mid-term windows. The best setups often appear where the 1W signal turns up while the 1M signal is already stable.

Step 2: Filter stocks inside strong sectors

Prioritize stocks with relative strength, positive volume behavior, and clean trend structure. Avoid names that are only moving because the entire market is bouncing.

Step 3: Wait for price confirmation

A flow score is early context. The trade trigger should still be a breakout, pullback hold, reclaim, or high-quality continuation pattern.

Step 4: Recheck after market shocks

CPI, FOMC, earnings clusters, and liquidity shocks can rotate flow quickly. Revalidate the score after the event, not before.

4) Decision Rules

  • Best long setup: 1W flow rising, 1M flow positive, sector breadth improving, price holding above key moving averages.
  • Watchlist only: 1W flow positive but 1M flow negative, or price still below resistance.
  • Avoid: Flow weak across both windows, sector lagging, and stock only bouncing from oversold conditions.
  • Take profit risk: Flow remains positive but price becomes extended while volume fades.

5) FAQ

Is the predictor a forecast?

It is a probability filter, not a price forecast. It highlights where conditions are improving so you can focus research and timing.

Should I use 1W or 1M?

Use 1W for tactical entries and 1M for conviction. The strongest candidates usually have both aligned.

What invalidates a flow signal?

Failed breakout, weak volume, deteriorating breadth, or a macro event that reverses sector leadership.
